It’s a Vlog!

As promised, here is the inaugural Me and My SoldierMan vlog, in all it’s low-production-value glory. So that there’s a point to this, I’m sharing some news and updates in the vlog that I haven’t written about on here yet. Oh, the suspense!

And please, do comment and let me know, what would be good vlog material? Current events commentary? Cooking videos in lieu of recipe posts? Maybe I’ll make the dogs do tricks or something for the next one. They’re way more interesting than I am.

Oh! And if, for whatever reason, you want to get the vlogs via YouTube rather than the blog, here is the official Me and My SoldierMan channel: (I'm so legit, y'all.)

Happy Wednesday!

  1. I love the vlog! :) So many exciting things going on personally and army related. It is definitely an exciting adventure.

  2. I love it!!! Getting to see your gorgeous (yes, gorgeous) smiling face and angelic, sleeping Baby G was perfect! Good luck and prayers for a smooth move to AZ and keeping my fingers crossed for Soldierman and his desired career change! Exciting times ahead for Team G!!!!

  3. Love the vlog! Lots of exciting stuff coming up for y'all.

  4. Great video! I've only visited Bliss but I loved it and would not mind being stationed there. I have no idea why people hate it so much. I hope you guys get picked up for aviation, that would be so fun!

  5. I am in Fort Huachuca now and am LOVING it! I have pretty much had a hate/hate a little less relationship with the army in the 5 years we have been in so saying I love it here is pretty big. (Must say in the 5 years we've been in, I've struggled with ppd 3 times and had one miscarriage so I don't actually blame the army for all my animosity!)

Anyway, we moved here from Lawton. I know you are from Oklahoma, but not sure which part. Have you been to Lawton? I didn't realize it at the time, but after moving here, Fort Sill is really not so great. We moved there from Germany so didn't really have anything (stateside) to compare it to before. Fort Huachuca is so nice! Sierra Vista is a nice, clean city and there are gorgeous mountains practically in my back yard. We got here about a month ago in "monsoon" season so the weather has been California weather. The locals say that it does get pretty hot, so brace yourself.

The base has programs for my 2 year old and my 4 year old (which Fort Sill did not...or at least not anything I was interested in. My daughter is taking gymnastics here and loving it!) and it has been so nice for them to get involved in things.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me! I am not very adventurous or proactive so I'm sure you'll get to know the base and area better than me in no time, but I'll answer any questions if I can!

My husband is in the career course presently and it hasn't been too brutal. He has homework but we see him way more than we ever have before. I know it's temporary, but it's so nice having him home every night for dinner!

  6. Just curious, are you doing any baby wearing? I know that you mentioned that while Baby G sleeps a good deal, you were not able to move around that much. I'm trying to set realistic expectations for after Baby E arrives!

  7. Good post. I absolutely love this site. Stick with it!
