And then I had a baby. Our baby girl. Literally overnight, you became a father.
I hope I never forget the moment I saw it happen. When they lay our baby girl on my tummy and I'm lost in a fog of Amazonian victory and looking around for someone to give me a high five for what I've just accomplished, I see you looking down at her with tears in your eyes. And I could see nothing else.
In an instant, I saw you become a father.
There are dozens of greeting card sentiments I could use. But it really is true - every time I see how much you love our baby girl, I love you even more than I knew was possible. I could watch you watch her all day. I love hearing you talk to her. I used to think my favorite thing was your hand holding my hand. Now, it's your hands holding her. She is so lucky to have you as her daddy, and I hope one day she really truly realizes that.
I hope you do, too.
Thank you for my baby girl, who has already enriched our life in more ways than we could have imagined. Thank you for working hard to provide for us in such a way that I will get to stay home and enjoy her as much as I want. Thank you for taking care of both of us this last (nearly) two weeks as only you could. Fatherhood has only confirmed what I always knew about you - that you are a great man, and a good man, and there is absolutely no one in the world I'd rather share a daughter with than you.
You are, and always will be, my favorite. I love you.
Happy Father’s Day

I feel like a horrible blogging friend. I have not done a good job at keeping up with your blog! Slap my wrist. That is such a beautiful picture of your husband and your daughter. I can't wait to catch up on all that I missed!
