Maternity Pics

Me and My SoldierMan Maternity Pics El Paso desert

We were so excited to get our maternity pictures in this week! I had a very specific vision for what I wanted and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out!

I knew two things for sure – I was wearing this outfit, and I wanted the desert landscape to be a big feature. I know people are sick of hearing me say it, but I am in love with Mt. Franklin. I think it’s just gorgeous and I wanted to be on or near it for these pictures.

The photographer I hired took us to McKelligon Canyon Amphitheater and we basically hopped the gate (metaphorically, in my case) and posed around the property one evening at sunset. I wish I had thought of this place as a photo spot earlier, I would’ve definitely loved to take some clients in there!

I love the results! I feel like these pictures will be a great memory, not just of expecting Baby G but of our time here at Ft. Bliss. I’m so glad we used this venue, even if it was a drive and was covered in fire ants and sticker bushes and ohmygoshsomanystairs.

Also, I think the boots were pretty much perfect. I love those boots.

And this one is hands-down my favorite! I love the composition and I love being “inside” in the mountain and I love how we look and really I just love it all. This will be going on a wall.

I used Sarah Smile Photography, and she was absolutely wonderful to work with. She’s also going to be taking pictures for us at the hospital next month (!?!?!?!!!) and I’m so glad I found her. Y’all know how worried I was about hiring another photog, and not only do I love her style but she’s also just too sweet to work with, which makes me feel a LOT better about having her there with us at the hospital. (Cuz, that could get awkward real fast) If you’re in the area, I highly recommend her.
