Allow me some Film Geek latitude. All this month on TCM, every Monday and Tuesday night, they are doing something very exciting: a journey through the history of film, with a documentary covering a specific time period followed by a selection of movies from that time period.
That might sound awfully academic to you, but I’m very excited! This is a great opportunity for a crash course in classic film theory. I haven’t seen the documentaries, but TCM always puts out a great product, so I don’t feel conflicted in recommending them to you.
This week, the period being covered is 1895-1918, “The World Discovers a New Art.”
The specials begin tonight and Tuesday, at 6:00 pm CST. Don’t miss out!
