Rose Day

One of my favorite "field trips" as a homeschooled kid was going to the State Capitol for Rose Day, which is happening today back home.

Every year, constituents in Oklahoma bring a rose to each of their representatives and the Lt. Governor and Governor to encourage them to support and protect the sanctity of life.

It's one of the most beautiful peaceful protests ever created.

“Abraham Lincoln recognized that we could not survive as a free land when some men could decide that others were not fit to be free and should therefore be slaves. Likewise, we cannot survive as a free nation when some men decide that others are not fit to live and should be abandoned to abortion or infanticide.” - Ronald Reagan

Today is also Reagan’s birthday, so this post is doing double duty :)

How wonderful. That is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard a state do.
