We had a very fun beginning to 2013. I intended from way back to host a NYE party, first so I could actually have some fun with friends, but (confession) I didn’t want to A) be on the roads with all these regularly horrible drivers who would also be sauced, and B) leave the puppies in the backyard unattended on one of the most inebriated nights of the year. So, I invited a few friends over and my sister came to El Paso for a stay and I had my very first NYE party sans-SoldierMan. EDIT: I should’ve added those also in attendance were Amber, Charla and Sarah. :)
I got these fun printables here and here. I had casually been looking on pinterest for decoration ideas for a couple of weeks, totally not anticipating the post-travel lethargy (that I still haven’t recovered from). Luckily I ran across these actually on New Year’s Eve. So I printed them up really quick – a cute decorative printable, name tags I turned into buffet labels, and “resolution kits” with Complete-The-Sentence Resolution Prompts. Hostessing is not my strongest area, so I thought, “What would Jessica and Ashley do?” Fill-in-the-blank activities and cute buffet labels fit the bill :)
We had a Hot Chocolate and Pajama party, complete with a Hot Chocolate bar, played cards, watched a movie and funny youtube videos and stayed up WAY too late. We also tried to take some pictures of us sending our soldiers in the desert some New Year’s kisses. Of course, Achilles thought they were for him :)
There we go!
Happy New Year!
I love the pictures, what a fun NYE you had. :) I don't blame you for not wanting to be out with all the crazies, we didn't want to be either.
