The Hope of Christmas

By now I’m sure everyone has heard about the massacre at the Connecticut elementary school this morning. My mind keeps going to another slaughter of innocent children about 2,000 years ago. If anyone knows the pain of losing a child, it's our Father God in Heaven.

The faces change, the weapons change, but evil has always existed in this world.

But it will not always exist.

We celebrate Christmas because God planned before the foundations of the world, a way for us to escape a world filled with evil. Today I'm clinging to the promise of Christmas more strongly than ever.

And now I'm going to avoid the internet as much as possible the rest of the day. Going to try and pray rather than obsess.

"In this world you will have tribulation. Do not be afraid - I have overcome the world."
~ John 16:33
