Well, we’re to that point where I have to force myself to stay busy and not just sit and stare at the clock ticking time away. Not that clocks tick anymore. I mean, everyone has digital clocks, right? No ticking. I wonder if there will come a time when the origins of the phrase “tick tock” have to be explained to children. Or if we will just stop using it altogether.
See? I’m going a little nuts here.
Not that I have nothing to do. I specifically left a lot of my to-do list for this period of time to help the days tick (see?) by quickly. Obviously, that’s working like a charm. :p
Just so this post isn’t completely pointless, here’s a pic for you:
These are my new barefoot sandals. A sweet friend of mine from church makes and sells them. I just love them. So even though I’m wandering around the house in my pajamas with a dustrag, I still have pretty feet :) These are more ornate and were on the high end at $15, but most she makes are $5-$10. If anyone would like some, let me know, I’ll get you her info. I’m sure she’d ship out of state for a minimum order. I should ask her about that….
Okay, a couple more pics:
This is from my church. Last Saturday I participated in a “back to school” even where the church bused in low-income families from all around the city and gave the kids new backpacks, school supplies, and haircuts to start the new school year off with. There were also makeovers for the adults as well as some new clothes and food. It was a huge event, I think there were at least 200 kids who came with their families. It was really cool. The church we go to does a lot of service projects throughout the year, but this is the “big” one.
Proof I was there.
I was just on the photography crew, but I’m so glad I went. It reinforced that I really do need to get on that Rosetta Stone and start re-learning my Spanish. But also it was great to be part of something again, to really be helping my church and the community in a practical way. I can’t wait for the next project!
Okay, I think I’ve killed enough time on here. On to…oy, vacuuming the bedspread.
Living the high life over here.
