Plodding Along

We’re in the home stretch for this week and I couldn’t be more thrilled. It hasn’t been a bad week, just a busy one. Stressful, busy, overall good, but I’m very ready for the weekend.

I got locked out of pinterest this week. Which you know if you follow me anywhere else, since I whined about it quite a bit. Mostly facetiously, because I did have other things to do. But let’s just say I was very thankful I hadn’t planned any pinterest meals for dinner. I need to get better about printing those recipes off beforehand. Anyway, apparently I had clicked on a spam pin, that caused my account to repin the spam pin, which was flagged as spamming pinterest, and got my account locked. But hallelujah, I’m back today. So now I won’t miss essential life-changing tidbits like….

Cause, you know, toilet paper wall art is SO yesterday!

Okay, this one actually annoys me. The fact that this method could be considered “legal” but me copying a CD and giving that copy to a friend isn’t…ridiculous. Both are unofficial copies. But one is considered “piracy” (you know, minus the slavery, murder and rape) and the other isn’t, proving the importance of semantics and controlling the media narrative on an issue. And I’ll just stop that rant before I really build up steam.

Meanwhile, I’m sitting here on the couch facing my last weekend with SoldierMan for a while. NTC is upon us and I’m not looking forward to it. Obviously. But things are kind of in limbo for us right now Army-wise. Not deployment-wise. That’s still 100% on the table, of course. It’s hard to be more specific without being too specific. But right now all the details of how and who we’ll be experiencing this deployment with are a little hazy. I have to say, that’s one curveball I didn’t expect the Army to throw at us, but isn’t that always the way.

Oh! In exciting news, I did manage to score enough Amazon Gift Cards this week to finally buy my (current) cart on Amazon. I’m still waiting for the last one to finish processing, but then I’ll be able to get a really cool nail art tool kit (of course I will!) and preorder JK Rowling’s new book, “The Casual Vacancy,” for a grand total of…14 cents. Doesn’t get much better than that. This is why I preach the Swagbucks. Free money, honey.

Other than all that, I’m working on finishing up my first major quilting project, developing a new regular feature for the old blog here, and trying to keep my head from exploding from all the nonsense filling up my twitter these days. One thing I do resent the Army for is sucking so much of my mental and emotional energy I can’t even really enjoy this election cycle. Yes, I said enjoy. Politics has always been a full-contact sport for me. So I’m really missing being able to jump headfirst into all of this.

Anyway, that’s where I’m at. Thanks for enduring this really random semi-catch up post. Hopefully the next time we meet, I’ll have some product of substance for you.

Yay for a catch-up post!

NTC and deployment. Yuck. Both of those just kind of suck the life right out of you.

I'm glad you were able to get back on Pinterest! So weird that you got flagged and locked out.

I totally suck at Swagbucks :( I earn my usual 3 points a day, and then I don't have the time or energy to sit there and search a bunch to earn more points!

Ooh, I remember those weeks/months leading up to NTC and the Big D. What a crazy time - especially when the details aren't final.

Email me. I'd like to hear more about what's going on and talk it out. (If you need it, of course!)

I hate the time leading up to JRTC and Deployment, it was the worst! I hope it all goes by quickly for you.
