12 in 12: March

1. MIND | Read at least one book a month, new or old, fiction or non-fiction. Memorize one Bible verse a week.
Read: God’s' Wisdom in Proverbs, by Dan Phillips. Complete! Review to be coming shortly!

I’d really rather not talk about it.

2. BODY | Work out 3x a week, minimum. Meal replacement shakes 1-2 times a day.
Yeah, about that….sickness, busy, forgetful….and I think I gained 5 pounds on top of it. I actually have a darn good reason, sort of, but I won’t bore you.

3. SOUL | Stick to a Bible reading plan. Find a church. Do a daily Bible study. Pick a verse for the year.
I think we’ve almost settled on a church.
Verse for the year:
Joshua 1:9 "Haven't I told you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go."

4. PLATFORM | Write at least 2 articles a month for the Bigs. Amend to add: grow follower count on twitter and facebook.
Only one Big post this month. I will be more on-the-ball in April. Oh, and check out my new social media buttons there on the right!

5. BLOG | Post 3-5 times a week.
Host one giveaway a month.
No giveaway, I forgot. Sorry, guys.

6. LOVE | Follow "Power of a Praying Wife" every month for one year.
Plan more creative date nights.
Getting back into the swing of things.

7. TIME MANAGEMENT | Plot out to-do lists for the week every Monday. "Stop feeling guilty when people you don't know ask you to do something you can't do."
Improvement in this area, I think.

8. STEWARDSHIP | Record spending and stick to the budget. Work the couponing like I'm being paid (because I am). Tithe consistently. Seek out charitable opportunities. Maximize my Swagbucks efforts (might conflict with TIME MANAGEMENT.)
So, couponing has sort of fizzled out. But budgeting is on-target and we are wiser shoppers. Swagbucking is also doing well. The AGCs keep rolling in.

9. CREATION | Get current on scrapbooking by the end of the year. Learn how to use new sewing machine for more than pot holders. Make something I want to wear. Plan and actually execute Christmas baskets this year. Take one picture every day, preferably with my camera.
Finished the 2009 scrapbook FINALLY. Brought anniversary scrapbook up to date. Made several cute things on my sewing machine. Taught myself how to do my own acrylic nails. Took fun newborn pictures. Big wins this month.

10. KINDNESS | "Practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty."
Hope so? I took said friend dinner in the hospital after she gave birth.

11. KEEP IN TOUCH | Regularly update email, photos, Facebook, & twitter.

12. WRITING | Edit NaNoWriMo2010 project. Complete NaNoWriMo2011 first draft/Continue research. Participate in NaNoWriMo2012
Writing is going fairly well. Forward progress, anyway. I’m having trouble staying focused on one project, so that’s my challenge for April.

I think I figured out my problem is that I only look at this list at the end of every month. So I forget to stay on track during the month. That may seem like a “duh” thing to you, but it only hit me the other day. Hopefully I can remember to come back and refresh my memory a couple of times a week, and that will bring greater progress in the future.

How have you done with your goals for 2012 so far?

  1. Wow, you are so organized. I wish I had this much determination! Can't wait for the book review! I may need to get with you to find out your swagbucking secrets. I haven't figured this whole thing out yet. :)

  2. Good for you! I think any month where you accomplish one or two of these to a large degree is a great month!

    Keep it up!
