Friday Randomness

  • Don't forget to check out my giveaway for FREE Shutterfly photo Christmas (or any other occasion) cards! Entries open another week!

  • Found this on facebook the other day and loved it:

  • So....I got glasses this week.

  • Yeah, I know, dorky picture. But we were in Lowe's and I was trying to be discreet. Technically, I've had these glasses before, but my lenses were like 3 prescriptions behind, and I needed to update them. I haven't put contacts in since Sunday. I hope I never will again. I don't like the whole "if anything at all happens to my glasses I'm too blind to walk" thing that sits in the back of my mind, but it is nice not to have constantly dry eyes or to feel the little plastic half-moons sitting on my eyeballs anymore.

  • November is closing in on us, and I can't deny I'm a little stressed out. I have have have to get last year's NaNoWriMo project past this stage of editing before I start this new one. Have to. And I'm going to be cutting it really close. I am just going to have to start staying up later next week and making it happen. I have a hard time writing during the day because, well, during the day, errands have to be run, "house things" must be taken care of, puppies must be played with, and - oh yeah - my actual income-generating job still exists. Then in the evenings, well, I want to be with SoldierMan, right? That leaves after dark. I need to go back to utilizing that time like I used to. Because I must get this draft done.

  • Melissa's here! I'm so excited! Yesterday Jessica and I picked her up from the airport and we waited for her soldier to get released, spending a few hours eating, catching up and oogling over Jessica's little man. :) I meant to take a pic of the three of us yesterday but....well....Hopefully at some point over the long weekend we can remedy that.

  • One of my goals over the next month or so is to get some pictures of El Paso. El Paso really gets an (unfairly) bad rap. There's lots of beauty in the desert, if you're willing to see it. ("Willing" being the keyword. I've discovered many people just aren't.) For example:

(Not my photo) This is from one of the nearby mountain ranges. That star is lit up every night. I love seeing it. It was one of the first things I saw when we drove into the city.

  • In other news, I'm getting pretty excited about the holidays. Not least because of this:

How fun it that?? I can't wait to get my Muppet nail polishes in (hopefully) a few weeks so I can try it out!

  • Have a great weekend!

  1. You look great in glasses, I love them! I am not good when it comes to painting my nails ha, those are so fun!

  2. We recently drove through El Paso and I liked that star too. Not quite as much since we were lost at the time, but still cool to see!

  3. You look so different (in a good way) with those glasses on! Very classy. And I totally agree that there is beauty everywhere! Even in the desert. I'm glad you are seeing it and loving El Paso.

Thanks for your sweet comments lately as well. It means a lot. :)

  4. Some places already have the Muppet nail polish!!! Love that quote!
