This week I began Week 4 of C25k. It was miserable. Prior to this week the plans had been at about a 60/40 Jog/walk ratio. This week it was more like 70/30. It kicked my butt. I have no idea why it was such a much more difficult progression than other "Day 1"s. But it was.

I finished, barely. And I did have to speed-walk about half of the final "jog." But I didn't stop, and that gives me hope for the future.

I don't feel very hooah about the whole thing this week, sorry. I'm just going to go again and get through it. I know how "blah" that sounds, but I'm just keepin' it real, here.


  1. Hang in there!! I just finished week 5... day 3 is a 20 minute jog... five weeks ago I would have never thought I could do 20 straight minutes of jogging- but I did!! It wasnt fast and wasnt pretty but I did it! Considering I am 230 lbs--- I am just celebrating that I did it!

    You can do this!

    Never read a more true quote in my life. Hang in there. When I get really overwhelmed while I'm running, I just keep fighting against myself and inwardly yell at myself that "I'm going to WIN THIS ONE!" You CAN do it.

  4. Hang in there! It does get easier! I think it was either week 4 or week 5 that kicked my butt and convinced me for a while that the C25K program was written for people who were already runner, not doofuses like me who have a love-love relationship with the couch. But when I embraced the suck it turned out to be doable and not as bad as I imagined. You can defeat it!
