Flower Power

So, Valentine's Day is around the corner. I never used to be a Valentine's Day person (mostly because I was just very contrarian most of my life) but now I am. Maybe it's a growing up thing, I don't know. But I figure, what's wrong with taking an extra special day to appreciate your relationships? Our relationship is worth celebrating, so why not?

Anyway, the one thing that *makes* Valentine's Day for me is flowers. I love getting flowers. It's a small thing, but it's simple, traditional, romantic. Any time of the year, flowers just make a day better, but especially on Valentine's Day.

If you're the kind of person who likes to order flowers for your friends who aren't getting to spend a V-Day with their Valentine, I highly recommend checking out ProFlowers.com. You will not find better deals anywhere. And their products are perfect!

Naturally, these are my favorite :)

Their deals are so good because they send the flowers fresh-cut straight from the field to your door, no middle-man of a florist or arranger. And you can buy them with or without vase, making the prices even better!

Because I have to put this here, no, Pro Flowers has absolutely no idea I'm posting about this. I'm not getting any free or discounted flowers. Darn it.

I'm just a big believer. Whenever my family sends flowers, they use ProFlowers.

However, I have to say, Walmart also has a great flower selection. Have you ever noticed? At least, the ones by where we've lived the past several years. They always have great flowers for cheap. Again, without the vase, but really, if it saves me $10 or $20, I can recycle an old vase, right?

I even buy flowers for myself from Walmart. It's a nice pick-me-up on a random Tuesday, and just brings a little life to a room. All for $5. Why the heck not, right?

Anyway, all of this Valentine's Day talk is really just to lead up to: I'm going to have a special guest blogger for Valentine's Day, and I am super excited about it! I want it to be a surprise, so I'm not going to tell you who it is. ;) But be sure and check back in 2 weeks for a fabulous guest post!!

Do you have a favorite flower?

  1. Tulips are my FAVORITE flower!! Sadly, I have never received any...not even from my darling hubby. Speaking of him, would you like to email him your post? ;-)

  2. Proflowers really is the best. My fiance had discovered that over this deployment. Rather nice. Trader Joes also had great flowers just to pick up while shopping. good prices too!

  3. Tulips are my favorite. However, I love gerbera daisies, peonies, and the uber-traditional roses, too. I carried calla lilies on my wedding day, so I love those, too. :)

  4. I love calla lillies, and gerbera daisies in the summer.

  5. Daises are my favorite flower!

I love proflowers.com! I use them all the time because all of my family live several hours away. I am a big flower giver . . . for birthdays, holidays, & usually just because. I get email updates from proflowers and any time they have a sale someone in my circle gets flowers:D

I also buy flowers from walmart a lot for the house. You cannot beat $5 for a cute bouquet!

  6. Gerber daisies are my favorite. The bright pink kind!

  7. I used to buy flowers a lot when I lived in Viet Nam cause they were CHEAP! I could get a dozen roses for a few bucks. So pretty. I don't splurge on flowers much in The States...I should though!

  8. Can't wait to check out the guest blogger! And you go girl, buying yourself flowers at Wal-Mart. ;)

  9. I love flowers I am bummin a bit because I know I wont be getting any for my bday or vday this year...but none the less they are awesome!! Cant wait to see who the guest will be!

  10. I like flowers but I always think practical. So I told my husband to get me a running shirt. Haha.

  11. Pro Flowers is great! I've used them a couple of times and they always send such great fresh flowers!

  12. Carnations are my FAVORITE. And roses are a close runner-up. On stage, I prefer roses, on a sunny day, carnations :)
