What's In the Bag?

This is another fun meme I've seen making the rounds that I had to jump on. I LOVE showing off my purse! Plus, I figured it was a good excuse to clean the purse out.

This is pretty much just a picture post with some description. The idea is, you take your purse as it is, right now, and lay out everything inside it and take pictures of it. You're not allowed to stick anything in or leave anything out. And I mostly followed the rules :) as you will see.....

I have a very Boy Scout attitude when it comes to my purse - Always Be Prepared. Seriously, you never know where you will be when suddenly you need ______ and you're the only one in the room with it. And then you're everybody's favorite person. So it's filled with all sorts of random stuff.

This is my purse that I got for Christmas one year, was it 2005, 2008, or 2010? No, it was 2009, that's right. My baby. My pride and joy. My super-fabulous big pink purse. That I am in love with. And take everywhere and use every day. As far as I'm concerned, it matches everything. :)

Now, to be fair, the camera that I used to take these pictures is typically in the purse - but obviously I couldn't take a picture of it. :) Also, usually so is this little gem:

If you're new to the party, you can read more about that here.

Some random items:

Mints, keys, phone, wallet, pens, and the planner I never use.

My organizing tools. Three small makeup bags I got at Target.

Bag A) random business cards, gift cards, and our voter registration cards.

Bag B) Hand sanitizer, keys (I don't know what to) emergency tampon, assorted hotel lotions I've swiped, and apparently two tubes of Dramamine.

Bag C) this one gets used the most: pens, lip gloss/stick/chapstick/etc, and yet another tube of Dramamine. The motion sickness is strong with this one.

Bible and hat and gloves. Again, always be prepared.
This is all pretty self-explanatory. You really never know when you will want a deck of cards.
More random stuff: cough drops, lens cap, pens, flash drive, the zippy pouch to my Disney lanyard, and the wings I pinned on SoldierMan at Airborne graduation.

So there you have it. I broke the rules *slightly* by not including all the cough drop wrappers and old receipts. Like you wanted to see that anyway, right? And also by adding the gun. I haven't shot since we moved so I haven't carried it. I'm just waiting for a trip to the range (hopefully this weekend) to get my hand back in and then it will take its rightful place in the purse again. But I had to include it. It belongs there.

  1. Oh my gosh. You had me actually chuckling. We think so alike. I tell Mr. Superman ALL the time when he makes fun of me for having a 'Mary Poppins' bag, "you never know!"

  2. I feel the same way, you never know when you might need a (fill in the blank) so it is in there. But said item is literally NEVER used hahaha. Can't wait until I have kids, I'll become a pack mule!! I don't carry a planner (because I never use it) but I carry a small notebook to write things down on that I want to remember (for example, I have a huge list of books that I saw sometime somewhere that I apparently thought I would want to read someday) It seems we have the same tolerance for car rides, if I don't stare intently at the road I will be SO sick in less than 5 minutes!!

  4. Oooo, now here's the milion dollar question: How much does the purse weigh??

That's my only factor in when it's time to unload some of the possessions, when there's that gouge in the shoulder from carrying a 50-pound bag! :D

  5. Cute purse! I am the same way about being prepared. Any time one of my friends need a mint, bandaid, or cough drop they always come to me because usually I have what they need in my purse!

  8. I might be the only female in the world who only carries around her wallet and a set of keys in her hippie purse. Haha.

  9. How on earth do you survive without using a planner?!?!? I seriously would have no idea how to function. I NEED it.

  11. Omg, I love that you have a ton of stuff in your bag!! "Emergency tampon." Teehee. Oh, and I LOVE your bag!! Hot pink? Yes please!!!

I totally, COMPLETELY almost died laughing... "The motion sickness is strong with this one." Bahaha! Joe and I always joke and say "the force is (or is not) strong with this one." =P Oh, and the motion sickness is strong with this one too. I have a tube AND a huge bottle of it in my medicine cabinet.
