Liberty Loves Company

I know it's a holiday weekend (and for our milpeeps, a 4-day) and so I'm probably the only one anywhere near a computer right now. I hope you are all visiting home or at the lake (or ocean if you're coastal) or barbequeing with buddies today and generally having a blast and a rest from daily life. Meantime, if you happen to check this today or tomorrow, I want to share some exciting news with you.

Some awesomely cool friends of mine have formed a band, called The Army You Have. They've just launched their website and are offering some free goodies, specifically in the form of MP3 downloads. (My favorite is the song which my post is named after.)

The best part (other than free music that is also quite good)? Is that the music is free, but they are taking donations and 100% of the money donated will be given to Operation Mend.

Operation Mend, for those of you who don't know, is a partnership between Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, and the V.A.-Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System which has been established to help treat severely wounded and disfigured U.S. military personnel wounded during service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

To see some examples of wounded warriors they have already helped, click here. (Although, if your hubs is deployed right now, you probably don't want the visuals. Just trust that they have done a great service to several servicemembers already.)

So go take a listen and "like" their facebook page (linked from the website) and support some talented musicians who enthusiastically support our troops (one being a former Marine himself!) I can personally vouch that when they say that 100% of the proceeds will go to help wounded warriors, 100% of the proceeds will go to help wounded warriors!

  1. That is a great song. They have some real talent - I hope their fund raising rocks on! :)

I was nice and didn't turn on word verifications. Please reciprocate by having your reply-to email set and not posting anonymously.
