Disney Blog Carnival: Characters

Today's theme: Characters!

I don't have a whole lot of character pictures, either. Since we don't have kids, as much as I love the characters, there aren't a lot that we really want to take the time standing in line for. At least, that's how I used to feel. The mood I'm in now, I want to go back and get pictures with every one! (That's okay, I'll say it: good luck with that!)

But I do have a few.

This is from our honeymoon. We went to have breakfast in the Germany pavilion at Epcot, not knowing it was a character meal (where you eat while characters float form table to table). This particular character meal is a princess meal. The first "princess" who came by our table was Mary Poppins. (yeah, I know) She was very cute, but when she asked to take a picture with us, we didn't realize you could say, "no." So it led to a very awkward picture of me and Mary. But now I think it's kind of cute.
This one is from Garden Grille, also a character meal. Only at Garden Grille, they only have Pluto, Chip, Dale, and Farmer Mickey. We actually got into a good conversation with Chip here, and it resulted in the only character picture I have of SoldierMan. I think it's cute :)
These little characters have a story! We were camped out for the light parade (which is important to do, BTW). This family was sitting next to us, and the little girl started talking to me. Next thing I know the both of them were crawling in my lap to watch the parade. Don't worry, that's their dad in the background. They were a very nice family from Illinois, and the girls were adorable! I love the light parade, but having a little girl in your lap squeal every time one of the light parade characters waves at her is it's own kind of magic!
And, last but not least, the ultimate. Me with my favorite princess - Aurora, or Sleeping Beauty. She's always been my favorite. I collect Sleeping Beauty paraphernalia. And she ALWAYS gets the shaft at WDW. Other than the occasional pin or snowglobe, it's a pain trying to find Sleeping Beauty stuff. This was only the second time I had seen her in three years and four trips. No lie. They don't pull her out too often, apparently, and only did because last year they released the special edition DVD. So I was very excited to find her (albeit a bit timid of being in line at 25 with no children. But thankfully, SoldierMan talked me into it :)).
