At least I'm not sleeping on the floor

First of all, thanks everyone for your kind words yesterday. I'm doing much better today, still not 100% (of course) but much better.

So today we are unpacking everything, right? And get a lot done - kitchen's done, my closet is done, other stuff is done. Pretty much do everything we can without furniture, like bookshelves and things. So my books and knicknacks are still in boxes, which is fine. As we are unpacking and planning our day, I get a phone call from the furniture store. Our livingroom furniture was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Unfortunately, it turns out it won't be available until six twenty, is that a problem?

You mean June 20th?

Yes.

Well, then, yes, that is a problem. We don't have any livingroom furniture.

Geez.

Thankfully, we had already bought a futon for the spare room, so now it's in our living room. We agreed that it would be awfully short-sighted to spend money on a furniture set we only sort of liked and probably replace soon rather than wait a month for a furniture we would love and have a long time. But it made for a frustrating afternoon.

I know it sounds like I'm complaining a lot - and I don't think I'll ever get used to this Georgia humidity! it's trying to kill me - but really, we love it here. We have an awesome apartment that's more like a condo, we get to live together again in an Army town that's not crap and SoldierMan gets to train in his MOS of choice at a fabulous base. Back home, they have had hail and twisters pretty much daily since before we left. I'm so incredibly thankful we're here and have this opportunity. And in a month, none of this will matter.

I'm still WAYYY behind on my blog reading. My apologies. Thanks to all of you who have been more courteous than I and have stopped by and commented. I truly appreciate it and, hopefully, I can get back in form after the LOST finale Sunday. SUNDAY!!!!

  2. I had that exact same thing happen with my furniture. I was LIVID.

I also got them to refund my shipping/delivery charges. Throw a fit and try that route. It may not get your stuff to you any sooner, but it might save you some cash.

  3. Speaking of LOST...umm...are you as disappointed as I am with the last two episodes?? The one two weeks ago was just plain stupid, and the one this week...was just, well...boring. And stupid.

I'm starting to get worried about the finale...

  12. Got to love that GA humidity! I am used to it cause I lived in Florida before, but understandable that it would be rough on those not use to it. Hope it gets better though! :)

  17. Oh no! Maybe you can hit up some yard sales for a few things for the living room in the mean time.
