TV Tuesday

Don't forget to post some questions for my Q&A post, coming soon!

Oh yes, it's LOST again this week! :) :)

So, last week was LA X. It was SO bittersweet. I can't wait to see what will happen with the flash-sideways (as Darlton calls them, so that's the official term).

As far as the whole flash-sideways things (and we are not allowed to call it an alternate timeline), I am glad they are doing it. Because the truth is, there was no other way to handle it. The only other options were: A) blowing up the bomb did nothing (lame) or B) it reset time with no continuation of the current timeline, which would jump the shark and create a Grandfather Paradox.

For those not into the time-travel theory, a Grandfather Paradox is the hypothetical paradoxical scenario that suggests that it would be impossible (were time travel itself possible) to travel back in time and kill your infant grandfather. Because is he never grows up and has a family, you are never born and never go back and kill him.....but then, if you didn't kill him, he WOULD grow up and have a family, in which case you would be born and go back and kill him....but then, he WOULDN'T grow up....you see? It's the ultimate flaw in time-travel theory. There's no way to go back in time without fundamentally changing the current time.

So, in order to avoid either cheap lameness or jumping the shark, they took the wisest course - merge the two realities (since neither are considered an "alternate" of a "legitimate" one, they are both equally justifiable realities).

Anyway, I'm super excited to see what tonight holds. Tonight's episode is, "What Kate Does," which is a companion title to a season 1 epi called, "What Kate Did." Sounds super!

Oh, and all you fellow Losties, if you haven't yet, you should check out the Official LOST Podcast on iTunes. Very fun and no spoilers!!

  1. They are going to air Lost on Monday nights here so I am almost a week behind.

What you said makes sense. This is the only way they could do things. Should be interesting to see what happens.

I love all things time travel!

  3. I am already loving the last season of Lost. I love the flash forwards of what would have happened if the plane hadn't crashed. I can't wait to see what happens tonight.

  4. Lost is amazing! I don't think there will ever be a show as good as Lost. Last night was awesome yet again and I can't wait for the next episodes.
