Illness Strikes!

So I get home from vacation and in less than 48 hours I'm sick. Joy.

Here's the thing: on the flight home Saturday, there was a kid (maybe 6 years old) sitting behind me who was coughing and hacking like crazy. I guess his mother felt the dirty looks the plane was giving her because she would occasionally mumble to him, and then he would loudly respond, "But I can't control it! I can't stop!" My sympathy for him went up a slight degree at that point. THEN, I find out that one family that I know of came to church Sunday with Swine Flu.

Now, I understand, sometimes you are sick and don't know it. Sometimes you are traveling and get sick while you are away. It happens. But really, I consider it the height of selfishness and inconsideration to go into public with a communicable disease unless it is absolutely necessary. Otherwise, keep that crap at home!!!

It's really annoying, actually, because this means that all the post-vacation work/cleaning that needs to be done isn't getting done - or isn't getting done as quickly as I would like. I don't know what I've got. At first I thought it was just a head cold, but now I've got a slight fever, so we'll see. I'm on a steady diet of acetaminophen and H20, so I should be fine.

That article is why I am not freaking out about Swine Flu (or H1N1 for you politically correct-mindeds out there). Summary: Gupta got Swine Flu in A-stan, was given Tylenol and water...and got over it in a matter of days. Like less than a week. Yeah, it wasn't fun or pretty, but geez, this isn't the black plague, okay guys?

And I sure as ain't gettin' the swine flu vaccine. No Guilliane-Barre for me, thank you!

Anyway, just needed to get that off my chest. Yes, I feel like crap. No, it's not the end of the world. Though bouncing back and forth between the bed and the couch at night isn't the greatest - but it's the only way to ensure that the bread-winner of the family gets a good night's sleep to go to work the next day.

In other news, it's time I announce the winner of my giveaway.

Drum roll please:
