First Disney Post

Now it's finally time for some vacation posts.

The only reasonable way I can think of doing a vacation post is to do a series of posts. These won't be all right in a row because there are other things going on in the world and I'm sure my attention (and yours) will be diverted. Anyway, here's the beginning.

We had to be at the airport at like 5 in the morning, so we decided to just stay up all night rather than try and "sleep" and risk oversleeping or dragging ourselves to the airport. And it worked pretty well. We stayed up and packed and played games and cleaned the house. It was fun.

We land in Florida and get to our hotel by lunch. It was amazing. There's nothing like riding the Magical Express through those big gates!

So our first day, we went to Hollywood Studios (used to be MGM Studios park, not sure why they changed it, I still call it MGM). We usually try and hit there early if we're going to, because if you want to get a Toy Story Fastpass for any part of the day, you HAVE to go early in the morning. (More on that later.)

In line for the Backlot Tour

In the Muppet area. I LOVE Muppets!

At the Indiana Jones Stunt Show, SoldierMan was chosen to be an "extra."

It was funny, I don't think he'd ever been chosen before.

Then we did all the other usual hits - Star Wars Star Tours, The Great Movie Ride....well, there aren't a lot of great rides at MGM. I don't do Rock'n'Rollercoaster or Tower of Terror, but I do stand in line with SoldierMan when he goes. :) So our trips to MGM are usuall only half-days, depending on if we can get Fastpasses for Toy Story Mania, the most awesomely fun ride Disney has come out with in a while. It's like an interactive video game, in 3-D, where you score points and it's almost always got a wait of over an hour. Cause it's amazing like that.

And here are some fun touristy pictures for you.

More later....

  1. Thanks for the tip, so people just love to be annoying and rude. I am so nervous about Kiale being gone. How long is your husband going to be in school for? Kiale won't be done with his schooling until this time next year. So we will be without him for at least 11 months before we can live with him. I am not looking forward to that at all, but I figure it will get the kids and I ready for any future deployments this way.
