Praise and Prayer Request

So, good news first. Went and saw the Amazing Walking Boy today. For those of you who don't know, my brother has his first knee surgery about a month ago. He just got let off his crutches and is loving it. Next one will probably be sometime around Christmas/New Year's. Long story, another time. Anyway, he was up and around. It was a little weird seeing him without the crutches under his arms - but in a good way!

However, later I got some not so great news. My cousin, one of those in the baby boom, had her son just a few weeks ago. All this week she's been battling some major migraines, in and out of the ER all week, it's been a nightmare. At one point, the Dr. tells her that she's leaking spinal fluid from where they stuck the epidural (lovely!), and that may be part of it. So they tried painkillers and things but nothing works. Today she went back and they've discovered that in her C-section incision she's developed a Strep B infection. I don't know much about it, but just what it says there is enough to make my skin crawl. It's a regular bacterial infection that, in adults, can be treated with antibiotics. Unfortunately, my cousin is allergic to antibiotics. So last I heard she was waiting to see a specialist. At present time, the baby doesn't appear to have been infected, but is staying at a friend's house to keep a safe distance. This has all happened really fast. So, please pray that she is healed quickly and that the baby stays in the clear.

  2. My prayers go out to her. Remember that the power of Love is infinite. It's like the sunrise: gentle, healing, and harmless - and nothing can hold it back, slow it down, or stop it.
